Indexed Universal Life insurance offers benefits that are not available on traditional Universal Life Policies. Indexed Universal Life uses indexed accounts that credit annual interest to the policies based on stock market returns. Both Aviva and Lincoln Financial offers strong indexed products with higher annual indexed caps than most other carriers.
Aviva uses an annual point to point strategy that is currently capped at approximately 12% per year. They also offer a two year point to point account that is capped around 28% which offers the best opportunity for growth. Lincoln Financial uses an annual point to point strategy only that is capped at 13%. Indexed accounts on universal life policies can never do worse than 0% in any given year. There is no risk of a negative year due to a poorly performing market.
Both Lincoln and Aviva have option no-lapse riders that can be attached to the policies. The no-lapse rider ensures that the policy can never lapse as long as the client pays the scheduled premium. Lincoln also offers a table shave program that will lower a case from a table 3 down to a standard health rating.
