Medicare Advantage Plans for 2010

Medicare Advantage Summaries For 2010 (Aetna, HealthNet, Anthem, United/AARP, Connecticare)

Medicare Advantage plan designs are set for 2010.  The general trend was that everyone lowered benefits and raised premiums.  Some of the change can be attributed to the cut in funding for Advantage programs (approximate 4% decrease in funding vs. the traditional 4%-6% increase in funding) but some of it most surely be due to utilization and frequency.

The plan benefits listed are simply for a general comparison to help narrow down your selections. In no way, should this comparison replace the official benefit summary.  This is simply a starting point to help give a general idea of the benefit offerings from each company.

Other quick topics of note… HealthNet has come out with an additional plan offering that probably has little to do with the announcement of the United Health buy out.  Anthem also has recieved approval to again offer the Mediblue Medicare Advantage plan after it had been suspended by CMS last year.
